AVOID THE WORLD'S BIGGEST PROBLEM!

For me, there is NOTHING worse than trying to go through all of the clothes in my closet and having the hardest time finding what to wear. In order to avoid this problem, you must take proper precautions starting when you go shopping. Here are my tips for shopping that will help you avoid the "I have nothing to wear!" scenario.

Don't Buy for the Price
Things are getting pricy nowadays so whenever we see something that's on sale we are quick to buy it. DON'T DO THIS. If it's something you really love and it happens to be a great price then that's perfectly okay but ask yourself this, "Do I love this enough to buy it if it were regular price?" If the answer is no then save yourself the money. Not only are you saving yourself money but you're preventing yourself from filling you closet with items you don't really care for which brings me to my next point...

Buy Quality Items
This doesn't necessarily mean good quality fabric or material. It means items that you LOVE, items you are OBSSESSED with, items that you can wear over and over and not get tired of it. These items may be very hard to find and when you do, of course they are more than what we are willing to pay. However, it's worth the money (if you can afford it). It's better to fill your closet with a few amazing pieces than to have an entire closet full of things that are average and that you will get sick of in a week. By buying "quality" items, you're less likely to feel like you have nothing to wear because you have clothes that you love!

Wear in Moderation
Now that you've gone shopping and have found quality pieces, don't wear them all right away. I know it's very tempting but if you wear it all in a week, you'll feel like you have nothing to wear because you wore everything you just bought. Then, you'll feel the urge to go shopping even though you just broke the bank. Say you bought five items, wear one or two items a week. It'll be about two to three weeks before you feel like you have nothing to wear which is a lot better than feeling that way everyday!

These are a few tips that have helped me avoid feeling like I have nothing to wear all the time. But, of course, sometimes this is going to happen and I will have another post about what to do when you have nothing to wear soon!

The Reveal

Well, if you're here, there's a good chance it's because you clinked this link that I posted on my Instagram page. For a while, I've had this blog. I love being able to write about fashion because it's a huge passion of mine. I've kept this to myself because I was waiting until I was 100% happy with how it was developed but I realized I was always wanting to improve it so it would be forever until I put it out there. It's still not exactly where I want it to be (I want my pictures to look more artsy lol) but I'm happy that I have a place where I can talk about everything I obsess over when it comes to fashion and share my tips, tricks, and outfits with whoever wants to see. Thanks for visiting!

Aqua

I love this outfit...I mean obviously I'm going to love everything I wear haha. My favorite things to wear in the spring are simple tank tops that have an awesome detailing on the back like this one. Then, of course, to finish up the look and make it look more dressy, I added a statement necklace. Also, I love the color combo!

The Tribe

My go-to pieces for the spring and summer always consists of printed tank tops! They're quick and easy to throw on and need little work when it comes to accessorizing. I also love when a top has some sort of open back like this one. Instead of wearing a tank top, I decided to wear a caged bralette which is peeking through. It's something unexpected and edgy!

Style Files: Putting An Outfit Together

Putting together an outfit isn't just throwing things on your body. Picking out an outfit is about technic and proportion. It's a science. Here's my guide to putting together the perfect outfit:

Step 1: Pick a Focal Point
First way to go about putting an outfit together is picking out a piece in your wardrobe. It can be something that fits your mood, something you just bought, or if you're just stuck it can be a plain white tee!

Step 2: Analyze Your Item
Once you picked out a piece you want to wear, analyze it. Look at the color, the structure, the pattern and the complexity of the item and build your outfit around it.

Step 3: Putting It All Together
Now that you've analyzed your item, start building an outfit that will compliment it.
 Example 1:
Say you choose a top with a crazy print but the print was in black and white. You would want to add something to your outfit that has a pop of color so the outfit isn't so dull. However, you want it to be a simple and subtle pop of color, not something that will overwhelm the outfit.
Example 2:
Now say you had a colorful top with a bold print, you don't want to over accessorize or have items that will clash with the top but rather enhance its beauty and compliment its character. Therefore, you would keep everything else in the outfit simple and neutral.

So there are three simple steps in putting an outfit together. It's really all about trial and error, what looks good to you and reflects your style. It may seem tricky at first but eventually it will come natural and you'll become a pro! If you're really stuck, you can always look online for inspiration and guidance. There are plenty of helpful blogs like, I don't know, this one!

Back At It

It's been wayyyy too long since I've posted here and I've missed it so much! Things have been pretty hectic lately between balancing school, family, and friends. Luckily, I was able to relax with a little bit of retail therapy and I purchased so many amazing pieces like this cream blouse. I've been searching for a shirt like this- one that goes with everything but isn't so basic. Of course, I had to finish the look with this fab statement necklaces (fyi, I've been buying soooo many statement necklaces. It's a serious problem). I'm happy to be back and hope to post consistently!

Moto

I love winter fashion but what I wear seems repetitive after awhile so I've been trying new combinations of colors or items to try to make it more interesting. This motorcycle style sweater is exactly what I'm talking about. I love how it's a different take on a sweater and I don't see it around often. It's a unique approach to a simple concept of a sweater and leggings. Side note- I've also been loving black nail polish. It's so basic yet chic and goes well with any outfit!
